Once again successful shopping has eluded me (this time because of stupid malls closing at 5pm on the weekends). So instead, I busied myself with going to see a few events that were happening for Diverse Citie (sp?), the Gay Pride festival here in Montreal.

Last night I went to see a 3 hour drag extravaganza that they had on an outdoor stage. The weather held, thank goodness, and the show was fantastic. Of course they had the usual Madonna, Britney Spears etc, and also a wicked Janet Jackson and fabulous Beyonce Knowles. The MC had a costume change between each song, and every outfit was as flamboyant and spectacular as could be. I met up with Mikey and we wandered about a bit after the show (which even he admitted was good), and then ended up at a little cafe/bar talking to the Australian waitress and some random weird old Quebecois guy who kept calling the Queen a bitch and telling me to get out from under her thumb and stop lining her pockets. Okay. The cafe was pretty sweet and I hope I can make it back there next weekend.

Today I managed to get up before noon (three cheers for me) and make it to the Pride Parade. Luckily because I went to the very end of it, I didn't miss anything. The parade was great, the atmosphere was very cheery and the drag queens on the bus at the end were a very good finish. The weather turned out wonderfully (compared to the last few days), and I'm probably an even more bizarre shade of brown by now. I went to the Tam Tams again after that and then to Schwartz's for more of that meat.

Now I'm all packed up (mostly) to go to Quebec City in the morning with some random asian guy who's driving us. Hopefully we'll make it okay!
