Abandonment and Redirection - 10082005 |
What's going on with Wendy? ... ? 150620041727 Vancouver, Canada Karma pays off I had a good but tiring weekend, didn't do much on Friday night, slept for most of Saturday (it was my first sleep in in like 3 weeks!), and put up with the rain on the way to a flatwarming that night. There were a huge number of Australians (footie players and girls, basically) but it was fun anyway. We were there til nearly 3am and then I didn't sleep til nearly 9 (oops). I had to get up though for the afternoon showing of [drumroll] Cirque du Soleil!! The show was absolutely stunning, and although I didn't quite get the storyline (was there something in the French singing that was important? You'd think they'd put a synopsis in the program but they didn't), the performances were amazing. Can't even begin to describe the sheer strength and athleticism, so I will instead say that the rig they had inside the big top for the (many) hanging props (e.g. curtains, swings, ropes, chairs, harnesses, rings) and the rotating stage were awesome. Would have done Jenks proud! The colours, the costumes, the lights and music were all spectacular, and I'm so glad I went! Yesterday I made another rather large purchase and am now the proud owner of a new Fuji digital camera. I have been wanting one for ages and what better way to spend my money than on small electronics? So you will be seeing more pictures more often, hopefully! Onto the bit about the karma ... On Friday I checked my bank balance online and realised that I had been paid my holiday pay twice (from Victoria Day a couple of weeks ago). So being the honest little idiot that I am sometimes I called the agency to tell them. They were all away in Calgary so nobody could help me (this is where I was tempted to just shut up and keep the money). So I called again on Monday morning and got the extra docked off my next and final paycheque. No "Thanks for giving us our money back" or anything! Ungrateful swines. But I figured it was an investment into my future good vibes, and I figure I'm right. Yesterday I got a free memory card and cheap accessories for my new camera, and today when I checked my email Yahoo! had given me another 94MB of storage for my emails. Woohoo! I was going to pay for extra as well. I'll just keep on attracting the good vibrations. Tonight I'm going to attract a HUGE plate of nachos ... I've linked my old guestbook so just ignore the entries before 2002! Take a peek Sign it already
