Well I’m partially employed! Congrats to Andrea, newly employed, and Colleen, newly un-so. I am somewhere in between but that’s okay. I’m registered with four temp agencies who all love me for the hot piece of temp arse that I am. I’m going to be working a record 2 days this week (although it is only a 4 day week so that’s aiight), after working a massive two days last week. Yay me. Not that they were all full days. Oh well. I’m also doing a full day of training tomorrow to be a ward clerk at the hospital. Should be exciting, it’ll be all like ER and stuff.

There’s very little actual news with me right now. I have had to re-establish an involuntary relationship with the root of all evil (aka pantyhose) for work, am getting frighteningly involved with Australian Idol (if knowing what their names counts), have finally found a strapless bra that doesn’t make my chest look bizarre (I’m sure someone out there understands my pain) and the stuff I sent to myself finally arrived from Edinburgh (two months later!) so I am happily reunited with the photo Jay gave me, my nice clothes, hairdryer, photos, electric toothbrush, haggis whistle and Order of the Phoenix. Yay for stuff! I’m sure I sent one more package though, but lord knows what would have been in it.

I went up to the HBC to see Mike, G and Bjorn for lunch last weekend with Lucy. It was really good to catch up with the boys, who are all the same as ever (that’s a good thing!). Just don’t get Mike started about GE Free NZ. It’ll blow your mind. Unfortunately the weather has only been nice for me when I’ve been inside. Sucks. But we had ice cream at the Hibiscus Dairy which was wicked as always (no Hibiscus Delight for us though, nobody but John can eat nine scoops on one cone!).

Spent a girly night on Friday watching Pump Up the Volume & Robin Hood Prince of Thieves (Lucy loves Christian Slater), eating lots of chocolate, drinking vodka & raspberry and listening to lots of chirpy oldies tunes (Going to the chapel and we’re gonna get ma-a-arried). The rest of the long weekend was lazily spent, asides from going flathunting with Anna.

I also finally finished the first of the books that David gave me. Finally, success! It was only like 1400 pages absolutely crammed full of tiny little words. It took a while to get into but I read the last 900 or so pages in the last 3 days. Hardcore.

And for the weird item: Dad’s booked me in to go on the fishing boat with him in a few weeks. Finally I’ll get to live out my long held dream of being on the open sea fishing with a bunch of scary old Chinese men (not my dad, my dad’s cool). Oh, and my sister, who I’m dragging along for the ride. Can’t believe I’ll be getting up before dawn to do this…
