Abandonment and Redirection - 10082005 |
What's going on with Wendy? ... ? W230720031409 Pants I don’t know whether I haven’t updated this in a while because I’ve been busy or I’ve been lazy (both partially true, as normal). I’m starting to get annoyed at my complete inability to wake up any time before half an hour after I’m supposed to get up in the mornings. Especially now, as it’s costing me shifts at the hostel. Damn not being able to flip burgers on Sunday night. The sewing machine won’t even be there so I can fix sheets or anything. Maybe it’ll give me time to practice the two chords I learnt on the guitar (the only two) or teach some new poi tricks to random people. I tried to give blood on Saturday afternoon but by the time Colleen got back to her flat and we drove up there, it was 5 minutes after closing time. That’s what I get for trying to be good. Maybe I’ll try again tomorrow night, or this weekend as I don’t have any work (argh). We went to open mic night on Sunday and a bunch of my friends played (at different times). Riaan played Leaving on a Jet Plane for me (along with a public description of what happened to my passport). As he is a good guitarist and singer, I wasn’t embarrassed in the slightest, and I love people playing songs for me! Coll cooked cannelloni for us on Monday, then it was out to the pub for some traditional (sort of) Scottish music by Graham E Pearson (Aly is stalking him). Random thing that happened this week: I normally get free scones, cakes, lollies, chocolates and biscuits at work (not every day, it sounds a lot more than it is). On Monday though, I got given underwear. Yes, very random. One of the lecturers who is about a size 2 got a bit overexcited in the Marks and Spencers sale and ended up with something a little more my size than hers. I, being the handout queen than I am after a couple of years in a hostel, saw no problem with her giving them to me. So yay for free knickers.
In other news: my passport is off away at the Home Office in Croydon. I was on the phone to immigration at both Dublin and Edinburgh airports, and it looks like I'm okay to get through both with a letter and no passport (I hope! - you can wait with bated breath for an email from me not being allowed into either country!). Also, I am picking up my ticket refund cheque from the travel agent on Saturday. It seems like I'm getting money for nothing when in actual fact, it's less than what I paid. Yay for "free" money! I've linked my old guestbook so just ignore the entries before 2002! Take a peek Sign it already
